Can Yoga REALLY transform your life?

I always giggle when I think back to when anyone asked me why I didn't try yoga and my standard response was - why would I try yoga - it's so boring!!


If I wasn't running a marathon, swimming 2kms or powering through a weights workout to get my endorphin fix - it absolutely wasnt worth it! 🏋️🏃🏊😵 But then friends in Singapore kept mentioning 'hot yoga' to me and how intense and amazing it was - at the exact right time when my life was busy and stressful with 3 young kids. 🥺


The first class I tried was a 90 minute hot class in 41.5 degree heat.

I almost died - the heat was relentless 🥵 and the air was so thick that sweat was pouring off my body creating puddles on my mat. The room was silent except for the constant robotic voice of the teacher interspersed with the sound of heavy breathing coming from fellow practitioners who I noticed all had a calm and focused look about them. The minute long poses were torturous and I could feel the frustration and impatience leaking from every pore in my body!


Somehow I survived and immediately signed up for membership.


No, I am not a masochist! For the first time in my life I found a way to silence my mind - for 90 minutes I did not think about my life once - I was present in that room (suffering 😅) and as a result I felt so calm and balanced when I walked out of the studio.


As time progressed and I began to spend more time in this ' window of peace' I discovered something else - a feeling of connection and safety. It was so powerful to me - I have made yoga my life.

Of course you don't need to do 'hot' yoga to connect into this beautiful space, any form of yoga that you practice regularly will take you there.
