There are lots of different styles of yoga and classes to suit your mood, desired outcome and your personal fitness level. Each different class can also be adapted to suit your abilities.

Vinyasa flow – A very popular class with people who have a base level of fitness and some knowledge of yoga as you get to flow through the poses with the effect of raising your heart rate and encouraging weight loss. Your breath is linked to your movement creating a strong focus whilst building strength, endurance, balance and flexibility. A great class that is challenging and results oriented.

Hatha – This is a good class to try if you are totally new to yoga. With this type of yoga, you move your body slowly and deliberately into different forms that will challenge your strength and flexibility, while at the same time focusing on mindfulness. Great for developing awareness about your posture and works on building core strength. This class is not likely to result in weight loss. Beginner to advanced classes available.

Yin – This is a quiet, meditative practise with long deep holding of passive poses. The class targets the connective tissue thereby nourishing joints, ligaments and fascia ultimately promoting the healthy flow of energy through the body. Best for flexibility, mindfulness, relaxation and emotional health.

Power yoga – If you are wanting a vigorous and cardiovascular type of yoga class that will transform your physical body by making you sweat and raising your heart rate – this is the class for you!! A vinyasa style of class where you follow your breath, expect to feel super energised from this class. Recommended for people with a good level of fitness and prior experience of yoga – in particular – sun salutations necessary.
This class is great for weight loss, building strength with some long stretches towards the end of the class, mindfulness and emotional health.

Yogafit – As the name suggests, yogafit is all about improving your overall fitness levels by raising your heart rate in a vinyasa style class. Whilst there is some similarity to power yoga, the main difference would be less emphasis on strength and more emphasis on a cardio workout. Great for muscle toning, weight loss, flexibility, balance and coordination, mindfulness and emotional health.

I'm also a qualified Trauma Centre (USA) - Trauma Sensitive Yoga Facilitator (TCTSY-F)

Diploma of Personal Training - American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM)

MA - Applied Sport Psychology

BA - Psychology

My specialty is yoga therapy – helping people improve their emotional health – with a particular interest in post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), complex trauma, dissociation and the resulting behaviours they create (such as anxiety, depression, burnout or addictive behaviour).

I enjoy the balance of teaching regular yoga classes too and my clients love the fact that my classes are fun, energising and always challenging!

Whatever your health and fitness journey entails – I will tailor a bespoke practise for you that is challenging and ultimately transformational.
